We're done with corporate platforms that treat you like the product. At Casual Heroes, we're gamers and people just like you — we built this because we wanted a place that actually gives a damn about the community that uses it.

So here's our policy, up front and in plain English: we don't want your data. It's yours. You can download it or delete it any time you want — no hoops, no 30-day waiting periods, no "we'll get to it."

We're also open source. You don't have to take our word for any of this — check the code yourself and see exactly how we work.

1. What We Collect

Only what we actually need to run the platform — nothing more.

Account Info: Username, email (optional), Discord ID, IP address, password (hashed — we never see the plain text)
Hosting Data: Server names, configuration, player activity, usage patterns — so your servers actually work
Site Usage: Basic access logs for security and abuse prevention, deleted after 30 days. No behavioral tracking. No ad profiles.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account
To keep the servers running, catch abuse, and fix things when they break
To respond to support requests
To make the platform better — not to sell you things

3. What We Will Never Do

This is the part that actually matters. Full stop, no asterisks:

Sell or rent your data to anyone, ever
Share identifiable data with advertisers
Use your data to target ads or build behavioral profiles
Train AI models on your content, posts, or messages
Read your private messages unless you report abuse or we're legally compelled to

4. Data Sharing & Legal Disclosure

We only share data when we have no choice:

With core infrastructure providers (payment processing, DDoS protection via Cloudflare) under strict agreements
If required by law, court order, or legal investigation — and we'll tell you if we legally can

5. Security & Storage

All passwords are hashed and salted — we cannot see them even if we wanted to
All server-to-server traffic is encrypted in transit
Data at rest is encrypted (database, backups, config files)
Only verified staff can access admin systems

No system is perfectly secure. We run regular audits, maintain firewall rules, and take security seriously. If there's ever a breach that affects you, we'll tell you immediately.

6. Discord & Bot Data

We collect your Discord username, server ID, and relevant activity (joining/leaving, game roles) only to power bot features and game server syncing. This data stays inside Casual Heroes and is never used for marketing or shared with third parties.

7. Your Rights

You own your data. Here's what that means in practice:

Download it — One click is all it takes to do a full export of your data at any time
Delete it - One click is all it takes to delete all your data from our servers. You can email us for confirmation.
Opt out - of any analytics tracking we ever add

8. Policy Updates

If something meaningful changes, we'll tell you — via email or a site banner — before it takes effect, not buried in a changelog nobody reads.
